Qiu Zhai Art Studio
新加坡秋斋藏画

As part of Lianhe Zaobao’s centennial celebrations, the ‘100 Years of Singapore Art’ (狮城美术•百年光华) exhibition was launched in collaboration with the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC). It was a privilege for me to be involved in this meaningful project and to work closely with the esteemed Mr. Chan Kok Hua. His gracious invitation allowed me to contribute to the Qiu Zhai art exhibition by designing the art book collection, flyer, and other collateral materials. The key visual for the exhibition, featuring the letters ‘Q’ and ‘Z,’ not only highlights the name Qiu Zhai but also transforms into a unique collage of paintings, symbolising the studio‘s artistic legacy.

The event was a great success, drawing over 13,000 visitors and becoming the most attended art exhibition at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre to date.

Qiu Zhai Art Studio’s exclusive collection featured 149 paintings and calligraphic works by 80 renowned Singaporean artists, showcasing a wide range of mediums from oils to pastels, watercolors, and Chinese inks. Reflecting on the exhibition, Mr. Chan Kok Hua said, “‘100 Years of Singapore Art’ is more than an exhibition; it’s a celebration of Singapore‘s artistic spirit and our artists. Their stories and visions are woven into each artwork, creating a vibrant tapestry that represents our cultural narrative. I invite everyone to join us in celebrating Singaporean art, as we elevate it to new heights and inspire future generations.”
